We hope that you find the team’s coping mechanisms and recommendations useful during these times that can be difficult for so many of us.
  1. What have you done differently compared to the first lockdown?
I’ve focused more on the things in my control, such as my personal development and fitness. I’ve taken a break from watching the news and scrolling through social media. I feel much better for it, it’s improved my energy and concentration levels.
  2. Did you keep up the hobbies you picked up in lockdown 1?
I started Yoga in the first lockdown and now it’s part of my weekly routine. I will never meet her, but I would love to thank a woman called Adriene, she has a fantastic YouTube channel for beginners. I still can’t touch my toes though – it’s a work in progress!
  3. How has lockdown changed the way you look at your life?
To consider my environmental footprint. Human behaviours are impacting the world in irreversible ways; I’m trying to do my bit by eating less meat, supporting sustainable businesses and reducing my waste. And of course, to never take going to the pub for granted!
  4. If you weren’t in lockdown right now, where would you like to be?
At a West Ham match with my Dad and friends. I’ve watched all the games on TV, but it’s just not the same as starting your Saturday at 8 am, travelling far and wide to watch my beloved team!
  5. If you were to arrange an online dinner party who would you add to your guest list? (This could include people you know or people you don’t know).
Michail Antonio, Laura Woods, Declan Rice, Louis Theroux and my brother. Mostly football related with some added spice from Louis!
  6. What is your favourite self-care routine you do when you need a pick me up in lockdown?
Practising yoga and running. I’ve worked on my 5km personal best, which is now under 20 minutes.
  7. What is your most memorable work moment during lockdown?
Getting my job at Parliament Hill! I returned from travelling New Zealand in April 2020, so I’d been out of work for some months. It was a challenging period and tested my resoluteness, but I’m a stronger person for it.
  8. Who or what has an inspired you over the past 11 months?
I’ve been most inspired by a podcast called “The High-Performance Podcast”. The podcast contains inspiring and motivating stories from some of the most successful athletes in the world. I particularly enjoyed hearing from Rio Ferdinand, Tom Daley and Dame Kelly Holmes.
  9. What is your top TV watch recommendation?
Perfect Planet. I love travelling, nature and David Attenborough (I mean, who doesn’t love David?!). It highlights how global warming is affecting animals and the world we live in. The key message is that we need to make wholesale changes to our lifestyle to protect our beautiful planet.
  10. If you could be an animal, which animal would it be and why?
I’d have to choose a Dolphin. Intelligent and high up the food chain!
